Native Plant Garden
There are a plethora of benefits from replacing all or parts of your lawn with native plantings. Environmental benefits include, but are not limited to, preserving habitat for wildlife and a reduction in water consumption. The Valley Stream Beautification Committee planted a native garden in Hendrickson Park in 2021 as part of a test to reduce the need for grass coverage and maintenance.
